With Nova Photos, the wedding DJ and MC services we offer in Chicago are built to keep your guests on the floor, your timeline on track, and your vision front and center from the moment guests arrive to the last song of the night. What separates a great DJ from a forgettable one isn't just the playlist, it's the preparation. All of our DJ packages include three in-depth planning sessions covering your music, your timeline, your announcements, and every MC responsibility. We approach your wedding the way a coordinator would: organized, communicative, and completely dialed in before we ever touch the equipment.

Most DJs show up, plug in, and play a playlist. Here at Nova Photos, well, we do something different. We treat your reception like an event to be coordinated, not just soundtracked. Three dedicated planning sessions mean we know your music, your timeline, your people, and your priorities before the day arrives. When something needs to have flexibility to it (something always does!), we're already steps ahead. As part of the Nova Photos family, our DJ and MC services integrate naturally with your photography, videography, and photo booth if you're bundling services. OUR DJ APPROACH

  • How do you handle music selection and do we have input?

    Completely. Music selection is about being collaborative and not about it being a guessing game. During your planning sessions, we'll go through your must-plays, your absolute do-not-plays, and the overall vibe you're going for: from high-energy dance floor to elegant and understated, or somewhere in between. We build your playlist around your preferences and use our experience to tastefully fill in the gaps.

  • What does the MC role actually cover?

    More than most couples expect. Your dedicated MC handles all verbal coordination throughout the reception such as introducing the wedding party, cueing toasts, directing guests through dinner, announcing the first dance, and any other moments on your timeline. Think of it as having a professional host in the room whose entire job is keeping the evening moving smoothly so you don't have to think about it or get on the mic (if you don’t want to!).

  • How far in advance should we book our wedding DJ?

    As early as possible, but ideally 9 to 12 months out for peak wedding season dates in Chicago (May through October). DJ availability follows the same calendar as photographers and venues, and quality providers fill up fast. However, if your date is sooner, reach out anyway. We'll always tell you what's available and work with you if we can.

  • Do you serve venues outside of Chicago?

    Yes. Nova Photos provides DJ and MC services throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs within a 150-mile radius of our studio. Just reach out with your location, and we'll give you a straight answer on what's possible.

  • Can we bundle DJ services with photography or videography?

    Absolutely, and most couples who do are glad they did. Bundling services through Nova Photos means fewer vendors to manage, a team that communicates internally, and, what we’ve found to be true, a better overall value.
